Location: Auckland Hospital – Ward 51
In November 2020, Auckland DHB welcomed their first patients to Taiao Ora (Ward 51), an all-new 41 bed space. The ward integrates hyper-acute stroke, acute stroke, neurology, inpatient stroke rehabilitation and adult rehabilitation in one space. We are excited to help provide a new healing space to support patients on their journey to improved health and wellbeing.
Award winning Guldmann ceiling hoist systems were neatly installed in nearly every room to promote the safe and dignified transfer and repositioning of immobile patients. With a dedicated bariatric bed space and adjoining en suite, equipment solutions such as a 500kg ceiling hoist system was installed to meet the demands of next generation patients.
This allows nurses to deal with most handling and lifting tasks on their own, in an effective, safe and dignified matter. The system is always in place and ready to use as soon as it is needed.
